 "Chinoiserie is still so popular in the handpainted wallpaper market and we will soon be updating our online chinoiserie gallery to include some recent projects. We have worked closely with a number of clients to create what I would term 'contemporary chinoiserie'. It's still the bird & flower feel, but introduces a subtle, modern colour palette which can sit as comfortably in a georgian house or a loft apartment.  I love working on these projects, where through discussions with a client, I can produce a concept sketch for discussion and a mood board for colour schemes before we sign off on the design and we start to paint. It means we can design something entirely to suit the requirements of the client and that is always a good thing to do! And because we paint everything in our studio in West Sussex, we are more in control of our delivery timetables." Oliver Kay, Head Designer |
